I made you a playlist

I hope you like it .

Originally, I made this as a new soundtrack to accompany my brother and me as we played the indie videogame Risk of Rain 2 Together. (It has its own great music btw, I just really like making new playlists for games).

Most of the tracks contain some level of Contemporary Psychedelic Rock with an emphasis on long form musical arcs, less lyrics, and atmosphere over message.

The huge worlds and cosmic surrealism that mark the RoR game’s style was the inspiration for the music I chose. Ride these electric riffs to the stars.
These are essentially modern ballads. Though the style, construction, and genre of many may not sound like traditional ballads, they all serve the same goal. Come listen to some people just sharing an intimate story or thinking late at night at a bar.
Gritty. Dirty. Grungy. Rowdy. And in the groove.

This is an expanded soundtrack to the modern film adaptation of The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. This playlist is what the continuing saga of Walter Mitty would sound like, featuring new selections from the same artists. Pairs well with wanderlust and international travel.
Dizzying Megastructures, Corporate Greed, Confusing Disparate Technology. These were the themes of my Cyberpunk Red (ttrpg) sessions I would run, until apophenia demanded all my thoughts focused on late-stage capitalism dystopia. The result is now what I play when players are getting settled in.
From a time in my life long past. I was a young sentimental theology student living away from the city in rainy Oregon. The winter rolled in and I felt just soaked to the bone all the time. I found a lot of this music on Noisetrade originally. I was probably insufferably self reflective this winter, writing poetry and smoking a tobacco pipe… it was a phase. Still some good music here though.
